The County Commission has voted three times to do the right thing for county workers. After the Mayor’s last veto, the Commission voted 8-5 in our favor — just one short of the two-thirds required to return our 5%. Round (what are we up to here – 50?) commences Jan. 16. Commission Fails to Overturn Veto on 5%
The Miami-Dade County Commission voted 8-5 today to overturn the Mayor’s veto of the 5% – but that was one vote less than the two-thirds necessary. Essentially, we’re back at the beginning. Read on for what this means.
5% Veto Vote Dec. 17
The County Commission voted 8-3 last week to stop the 5% concession. But Mayor Gimenez vetoed the vote, triggering another vote of the Commission to overturn it. That vote is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m. Be there!
