Jackson Health System was a top performer in the Vizient Environmental Sustainability Excellence Award, specifically in the Comprehensive Academic Medical Center cohort. The award recognized providers that positively contribute to human and environmental health through responsible purchasing decisions, a commitment to carbon emission reduction and climate resilience. We were chosen out of 76 healthcare systems in our cohort.
Vizient’s Environmental Sustainability Excellence Award honors hospitals and health systems that demonstrate outstanding commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining high standards of patient care. It’s part of Vizient’s broader Quality and Accountability Study, which evaluates performance across six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, and equity.
