SEIU Members Keep Healthcare Issue Alive

Easily 300 people from across South Florida turned out to the Broward Legislative Delegation’s Town Hall on Healthcare to tell the lawmakers to keep fighting for healthcare expansion.

From gut-wrenching personal stories about juggling health issues while uninsured to expert testimony from nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, the 2.5 hour forum provided evidence that this issue is far from dead in Florida. See coverage here.

Social Worker Maggie Pena, BSW, Denise Glass, RN, and Omayra Hernandez, RN and others from Jackson attended. Hernandez also gave her perspective as a nurse. For photos from the forum, click here.
