2013 COPE Blitz Successful

copeblitzwinnerThe Committee on Political Education (COPE) is members’ outlet for political activism on issues that matter most to us.

Activities range from lobbying elected officials, to signing petitions, speaking out at public forums and writing letters to the editor.

The money raised by your contributions go directly to enhancing the political power of the nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals at Jackson at the local, state and national levels.

The COPE Blitz 2013, which ended Nov. 6, was wildly successful this year.

Some 210 members either signed up for the first time, or upgraded their contribution.

A lot of the credit has to go to social worker Maggie Pena, BSW and enrollment specialist Hiram Ruberte, for their stellar work in collecting cards.

Maggie’s total of 85 cards was good enough to win a national SEIU contest that earned her a new iPad!

Locally, new COPE contributor, Anne Monique Abraham, a PA in CHS, won a weekend at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, FL.

Congratulations to all!
