On Jan. 21, the SEIU Local 1991 bargaining team hammered out big wins for the nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals at Jackson.
- JHS agreed to stop taking 3% of the 5% healthcare concession retroactive to Jan. 1, 2014. The final 2% will return to paychecks on Sept. 30, 2014.
- JHS also agreed to a one-time 3% gain-sharing payment in recognition of the efficiencies we have created in bringing Jackson back into the black.
RATIFICATION MEETINGS: Ask Questions and Vote on the Agreements
Both sides have to officially ratify the tentative agreements, then it will go to the County Commission for final approval.
Ratification meetings for members to get info and vote on the agreement will be held Jan. 27, 28 and 29.

In the first pay period after ratification by the County Commission, eligible bargaining unit members will receive a 3% lump sum gain sharing payment based on their salary (excluding overtime over 80 hours/pp, premium pay, differentials, etc.) between Oct 1, 2012-Sept. 30, 2013.

What happens if Mayor Gimenez vetos the original 5% vote?
Mayor Gimenez is expected to veto the original 5% vote of the County Commission this week.
That veto would not affect this agreement. However, if he does not veto, the full 5% would be restored to all unions (including ours). So we win either way.
