The City of Miami honored William W. Riley, a longtime IBEW Business Manager, during a street renaming ceremony on Monday.
Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami co-designated NW 16th Terrace between NW 17th Avenue and NW 15th Street as “William ‘Billy’ W. Riley Way.”
William was born in Miami in 1945 and raised in Allapattah. He joined the International Brother of Electrical Workers Local 349 as an apprentice electrician.
From 1985 to 2003, William served as the Director of Apprenticeship and Business Manager for the Miami Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Committee, an organization that educates and trains electrical workers.
In 2003, he rose to the position of Business Manager of IBEW Local Union 349. William also serves on the nine-member International Executive Council of the IBEW.
The members of SEIU Local 1991 congratulate William for this recognition, and for his years of dedication to improving the lives of electrical workers.
