Bargaining Team Puts Largest Salary Increase Proposal in SEIU History on the Table!!

On Wednesday, February 15th, your bargaining team put a landmark salary proposal on the table. This historical and largest ever economic proposal in 1991’s history, included an across the board cost of living (COLA) increase / retention wage increase, and many market adjustments for our “in demand” nurses and healthcare professionals, based upon the great research and presentations made by members.

The proposal calls for each member to receive at least a year one COLA / retention wage increase of 12%. For all members whose job classes still fall short of the current market, market adjustment proposals range from 12.6% up to nearly 30%. Every member would receive either the COLA / retention wage increase OR a market adjustment, whichever is greater. Years 2 and 3 have not yet been put on the table.

This year one economic proposal is largely based on the extensive research presented by our members. A huge thank you to all of our members who did presentations. The market adjustment research also allowed us to propose increased per diem rates for specific job classes. Further per diem rates will be proposed at the next session.

Both management and your bargaining team want to finish contract negotiations in April. We have a lot of work to do in order to reach this timeline!

Stand strong with your bargaining team! Be prepared to come to the next session on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., where the bargaining team plans to make the second half of our economic proposal.

Subsequent sessions are scheduled on 3/9 at 1:00 p.m. and 3/14 at 1:00 p.m.

Bargaining is just beginning!!
