Victory at Jackson South! Two Union Members Help Save Wound Care Center

After a series of crucial meetings, Jackson’s administration has decided against closing the Wound Care Center at Jackson South, thanks to the persistence of members Doris Rahming, RN, a Local 1991 officer, and Kim Fernandez, RN.
With union assistance, Doris and Kim provided their input to labor relations, as well as to Jackson South Chief Administrative Officer Stuart Pedolnick, proving that the Wound Care Center not only provides valuable services to patients, but is also a profitable entity for JHS. After working with all stakeholders at the Wound Care Center and Jackson management, not only will patients continue to receive both inpatient and outpatient care, but the jobs of two employees, who faced layoffs, were saved.
Thank you Doris and Kim! Their hard work proves that together, we are strong.
