Three-and-a-half years after 200 fast-food workers walked off their jobs in New York City, sparking a national movement for $15/hr and union rights, the Fight for $15 won its biggest victory yet when Gov. Jerry Brown reached a deal with state legislators Monday to make California the first state to pass a $15/hr minimum wage.
Pick Your Presidential Candidate: Early Voting Until March 13!
Early voting for the Presidential primary starts today, Feb. 29, in Miami-Dade and March 5 in Broward. Election Day for the primary is March 15.
Safe Patient Handling Project Testing New Equipment
A joint labor and management project to make lifting and handling patients at Jackson safer will soon be implemented for the first units to receive ceiling lifts and mobile equipment. Training will run from Feb. 9 – April 8.
