Supreme Court Saves ACA
For months, millions of people across the country held their breath, wondering whether the U.S. Supreme Court would take away the affordable health care we all fought so hard to make the law of the land. June 25, the collective exhale of 8 million, 1.4 million of those in Florida, was heard as the Court sided with the government in King vs. Burwell.

Company 300 Tentative Agreement Reached!
On June 10, the Local 1991 bargaining team reached a historic tentative agreement for all union-eligible employees moving from Company 300 to Company 410 (Professionals). The agreement, which is an addendum to the existing Professionals contract, must still be ratified by employees in the Professionals bargaining unit, as well as the Public Health Trust and the County Commission.

Nearly halfway through the session, the Senate and House are divided on budget priorities. In a nutshell, the House wants huge tax cuts, the Senate wants to continue to fund necessary programs. Health care funding is the biggest stumbling block.
